Atapattu hopes for revival in India test series

MUMBAI, India, Nov 25 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka captain Marvan Atapattu is hopeful his team will have recovered from a 6-1 one-day series drubbing against India when they face the same rivals in a three-test series starting on Dec 2.

“I think this (test series) is going to be a different ball game altogether,” Atapattu told reporters in Bangalore on Friday after his team’s arrival.

“We had 10 days off after the disappointing one-day series,” he said. “We had a couple of skills session before we came here and it is time for us to put things right in the middle.”

Sri Lanka have yet to win a test in India, having played 11 matches spread over five tours since 1982-83.

“Here is a great opportunity for us to do a bit and set the record straight,” he said.
