TNT to invest 100 m euro in India — Rolls out domestic services

TNT, global provider of mail, express and logistics services, on Wednesday announced the launch of its domestic services in India. The company will be investing 100 million euro ($121 million) in the Indian market over the next five years.

The India plan of TNT is in line with its global strategy of focusing on building networks in emerging markets.

This makes TNT the first multinational brand in India to offer both international and domestic services using an integrated air and road network. The company is targeting to become the market leader in the country by 2010.

TNT is attempting to replicate its European network in Asia, by forging network linkages between major markets in Japan, Korea, China and India.
