PM plainspeak: Peace talks wont help India, Pakistan
Soon after dedicating Indias largest thermal power station to the nation in Orissa, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was at his straight-talking best and stated that he would be meeting Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf early next month, on the sidelines of a the Non Aligned Summit in Havana.
However, no one, not even the Prime Minister is expecting the meeting to break the ice. This was evident in the statement that he made about Pakistan.
We can choose our friends, not our neighbours. But there should not be any problem in talking, said the Prime Minister.
Manmohan Singh seemed to be in candid mood for he also admitted that talking peace was unlikely to get the two countries anywhere positive.
